  2. It is a lot of work. The display will look different when I'm done, this one is just so i can make fine adjustments while testing. I ran into a ton of problems, firstly with one of the power supplies that was too noisy. I had to redesign the supply and filters. The microprocessor and the capacitors are not on the same ground so to read the voltage on the capacitors i have to use Pseudo- Differential calculations(very complicated) to get the correct voltage reading. I also had problems with the display, blew 3 processors and the list goes on. I guess that's why its called a prototype. I have not worked on it for about 3 weeks but I will keep you guys updated.

  4. You've done some remarkable work here and with your other welder project. This would be a huge benefit to metalsmiths that can't afford the Orion welders. What support do you need from us to complete it?

  5. Hi Fritz,

this is a great project and I'm looking forward to seeing updates from you. If you get as far as being able to sell designs/kits for this I will definitely buy one from you. I'm particularly interested in the retracting stylus and argon shielding that you have built as yours is the only DIY pulse arc welder I have seen to incorporate this!

  6. Hi Fritz, This looks really great and I am interested to follow up on the progress. If you plan to sell kits, put me on the list. Anything I can do, help in the project, let me know! Ever considered in making this project a crowd funded project? Kickstarter? I think it can be a successful one.

  10. Hi Fritz! I'm very glad to see that you have continued with the development. I'm anxious to get a look at the current state of the schematic - I find myself with time "thanks" to a car accident. I hsv salvaged a few microwave ovens for parts for other projects and am very excited about doing some pulse experiments!
